Recycling day!

Hi. How are you doing? It’s all been about recycling at Newquay Beach Care.

Recently one of our members, Jade Rutherford from Carousel Amusements contacted us to help safely recycle 15 bags of plastic nurdles!!

The nurdles had been used inside some of the amusement games but are not good for the environment if they escape into it, so we were really pleased to help. We are hoping they will be going through a specialist waste contractor straight into post consumer plastics through Keep Britain Tidy.

We’ve also been busy emptying the crab line bins at the harbour, once a week. These are cleaned, the components separated and everything sent off via Odyssey Innovation Ltd to be recycled into other products.

Finally, we continue to collect discarded angling line from our Anglers National Line Recycling Scheme recycling bins (Fly Cellars, Little Fistral and Lewinnick rocks) which is also sent off for recycling. So good to work with others for solutions to recycling issues.Newquay Sea Safaris and Fishing.Land and Sea Cornwall Looe Marine Conservation Group Cornish Plastic Pollution Coalition #newquayclean #lovenewquay #newquay
